InStove at Midwest Renewable Energy Fair
From June 19th to the 21st, InStove Executive Director Fred Colgan, Development Director Adam Creighton, and volunteer Ben Jacobs demonstrated our technology and met with folks interested in sustainable technologies at the 26th annual Midwest Renewable energy fair in Custer, Wisconsin.
The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) hosts The Energy Fair on the third week in June each year. It brings together stakeholders in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living education. The MREA works to protect the environment by educating the public about appropriate use of natural resources to meet energy needs.
It is attended annually by over 15,000 participants and visitors, and is a hub for clean energy and sustainability education in the United States. This year’s Fair featured dozens of businesses working in sustainable technology and agriculture, and invited host of Democracy Now! Amy Goodman, former FERC chair Jon Wellinghoff, and organic farmer/activist Atina Diffley to give keynote speeches. There were over 200 workshops given on sustainable food, building, energy and more.
"This is our second year here, and we were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support," said InStove founder Fred Colgan. "People were interested in everything from learning about our rocket stove technology, to sponsoring stoves in Africa, and buying stoves for their farm."

InStove would like to offer special thanks to the Jacobs family for sponsoring our participation for the second consecutive year.
If you know of a trade show, conference or other event that you would like to see InStove participate in, or if you’d like to organize a house-party or purchase a stove, please contact Fred Colgan.
